Completed in 2025, the project was carried out while the station remained fully operational. The challenge was to implement a technically demanding lighting solution without interrupting daily use, while meeting the strict durability requirements of a metro environment.

AICCI developed a modular, pre-assembled system in which all luminaires and installation components were delivered as installation-ready units. This approach enabled fast and controlled implementation on site, minimizing disruption while ensuring a high level of finish and reliability.

The renewed lighting defines the spatial character of the station. In the ticket hall, suspended luminaires create a rhythmic field of light that articulates the volume and allows the glass-walled building to glow outward into its surroundings. On the platform, carefully controlled downlighting provides focused, glare-free illumination, improving both visual comfort and safety.

Circular design principles were integrated into the system from the outset. The installation is fully modular and can be dismantled, reconfigured, and reused as needs evolve, extending its lifecycle without requiring complete replacement.

The luminaires are constructed from durable, powder-coated aluminium and designed for demanding conditions. The lighting is warm in tone and digitally controlled, supporting both atmospheric quality and long-term flexibility.

The project was developed in collaboration with Bolder Development as architect, Granlund responsible for lighting and electrical design, and Helsinki Regional Transport (HSL) as client. AICCI delivered the custom lighting system as an integrated design and manufacturing solution.
