Casambi is an ecosystem and application designed for wireless lighting control. It enables flexible, energy-efficient, and user-friendly management of lighting systems without the need for complex wiring.

Casambi is built on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology, an energy-efficient version of Bluetooth that consumes minimal power and offers lower data capacity compared to Bluetooth Classic. The system is developed by the Finnish company Casambi Technologies Oy.

Wireless lighting control is much more than just turning the lights on, off, and dim. It improves the usability of light and lighting. With Casambi, users can control their own light and share usage to promote ergonomics and support well-being and safety. At the same time, the adaptability, comfort, and energy efficiency of premises will be improved.

Casambi is designed to provide a manufacturer-independent lighting control solution. Luminaires and devices from different brands can be seamlessly integrated and controlled using the same technology. All Casambi-compatible products are fully interoperable, enabling a wide and rapidly growing selection of lighting fixtures, switches, sensors, and other devices to work together effortlessly.

Today, nearly all leading manufacturers of high-quality luminaires offer Casambi Ready products or provide Casambi as an option. Casambi offers a fully scalable lighting control solution. You can use it to control a single luminaire, create groups of any size, or manage a large and complex system. Casambi devices form a mesh network where each device acts as a signal repeater, extending the range. The range of a single Casambi device is approximately 50 meters.

Casambi provides two firmware options:

• Classic supports up to 127 devices.
• Evolution supports up to 250 devices.

For larger installations, multiple networks can be combined.

Casambi control is not only simple to use but also easy to share. Access to devices can be shared among multiple users by granting access to the mesh network. The mesh can be open or password-protected. Sharing also creates a backup of the network configuration.

One of the key advantages of wireless lighting control is flexibility. Devices can be installed and moved easily, making it ideal for retrofitting existing spaces or locations where wiring changes would be difficult or costly. Choosing wireless control can significantly reduce installation expenses.

Casambi provides a DALI gateway that integrates seamlessly with existing DALI lighting systems. With the Casambi-DALI connector, you can extend wired DALI installations with wireless Casambi control or connect multiple Casambi networks to a DALI system.

The Casambi-DALI Translator ensures that all Casambi devices appear as standard DALI gear to the DALI controller. This means Casambi networks can be controlled like traditional wired DALI systems, using existing DALI controllers.

All AICCI Casambi luminaires and luminous tables are Casambi Ready, meaning they come with a built-in, pre-configured Casambi control system.

Once the luminaire is connected to the mains, you can start adjusting the light and customize your settings using the Casambi app. Basic functions include switching lights on and off, adjusting brightness, and changing the hue and intensity of the light.
